Hunter Insurance Commemorates 30th Anniversary by Extending Helping Hand to 30 Organizations

LINCOLN, R.I. (February 25, 2019) — As a sign of appreciation to the organizations and people that have helped the agency prosper through the years, Hunter Insurance has launched the “30 Initiative” campaign to commemorate its 30th anniversary. Throughout 2019, the initiative will help support 30 local, non-profits that have made a lasting impact on Rhode Island families.

“Successful businesses have a responsibility to be good corporate citizens, and we’ve been fortunate to have a supportive community that has helped Hunter Insurance grow into the company it is today,” said Brian Hunter, President of Hunter Insurance. “As a gesture of our appreciation to the community for their continued business and loyalty, we have decided to donate to local non-profits that have made it their mission to help people every day.”

Founded in 1989, Hunter Insurance began offering insurance products to New England families with just two employees. Today, the agency employs more than a dozen agents and it helps provide essential insurance products such as auto, home, and life insurance to over 6,000 families in Southeastern New England.

“The community has been very good to us. We are grateful to the people and organizations that have supported us for the last 30 years, and we are proud to provide financial assistance to these groups which regularly provide much-needed support and services to Rhode Islanders,” Hunter said.

Five organizations have already benefitted from the 30 Initiative this year. Those organizations include the Lincoln Little League, the Northern Council of the Arts, Keep the Heat On, Project Undercover, and Operation Stand Down.

The first donations, Hunter says, were presented to Keep the Heat On and Project Undercover in January amidst the longest government shutdown in history. These organizations provided furloughed federal employees with basic necessities, such as diapers and socks, for their children and funds to help keep their homes warm.

Hunter Insurance’s latest initiative highlights the philanthropic spirit at the agency’s core.  Over the course of its 30-year history, the agency has consistently donated large sums of money to several non-profits and other charitable causes.

Organizations benefitting from the 30 Initiative will be announced in email newsletters throughout 2019.
